Funding & Rebates

There are various funding and rebate options that you may qualify for to  support your therapy services. Below, we’ve listed some of the most common funding providers available:


  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Medicare for Chronic Disease Management
  • Medicare for Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders
  • Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
  • Private Health Insurance
  • My Aged Care (for older individuals)
  • Home Care Package Providers

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Nova Speech Clinic provides services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Services are delivered in accordance with current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and the NDIS Code of Conduct.


We support participants and families to access therapy services that align with their goals and support needs.


Our team is experienced in working collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams to support meaningful participation and individual goals.

Medicare

We provide Medicare-funded speech pathology services for eligible children, adolescents, and adults. Support may be available through: 


Chronic Disease Management (CDM) – MBS Item 10970


  • GP referral required 
  • Up to 5 subsidised allied health sessions 
  • Rebate up to $61.80 per session 


Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders – MBS Items 82005 & 82020


  • Assessment and treatment services for eligible individuals under 25 years 
  • Referral required from an eligible medical practitioner 
  • Rebate up to $87.25 per service

Private Health Fund

Nova Speech Clinic processes eligible private health rebates through Tyro Health.


Clients are encouraged to contact their private health fund directly to confirm rebate eligibility, rebate amounts, and level of cover for speech pathology services.


Common private health fund item numbers may include:


  • 320 – Initial assessment session (46–90 minutes)
  • 340 – Therapy session (up to 45 minutes)
  • 350 – Therapy session (46–90 minutes)

Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)

We provide services under the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) funding program. Our team is able to support veterans and their families with access to therapy and assessments. We ensure all services are delivered in compliance with DVA guidelines, offering tailored care to meet the unique needs of veterans. Effective from 1st October 2019, referrals for DVA clients to allied health services are structured under Allied Health Services Treatment Cycle. 


This means:


  • Your referral will be valid for up to 12 sessions or 1 year, whichever occurs first.
  • Your GP will coordinate with the speech pathologist and act as your care coordinator, ensuring comprehensive management of your care.
